High volume low speed (HVLS) fans differ from traditional fans in many ways. Let’s discuss them one by one.

    Number of Fan Blades

For a large area, you will need many traditional fans to cover the whole area while if you use high volume low speed (HVLS) fans, then you will need only a few units. For a 9000 sq. meter area, you will need only 6 fans. To cover the same area with traditional fans you will require nearly 300 fans. So, you need a few units only to cover a large area if you go with High volume low speed (HVLS) fans.

    Energy Consumption

Since to cover a large area, you need hundreds of fans; therefore, the total power consumption will be higher. The total power consumption can be 100 kW for a 9000 sq. meter area if you use traditional fans. In contrast, HVLS fans are few and they can do the work by consuming a few kilowatts only. Thus, HVLS fans save your energy and reduce your monthly bills.

    Noise

Noise will be an issue with traditional fans. You will use hundreds of fans and the collective noise will be annoying and might be above 85 dB. So, it is better to use HVLS fans because they have low noise. RTFANS large industrial ceiling fans have a noise level of 43 only. Thus, they are very quiet.

Studies used by the Public Utility Commission in this proceeding showed that 45 dBA at night (outside the home) was fully protective of health and sleep.

    Maintenance

RTFANS adopts mortise and tenon structures with welding for the mainframe while other suppliers in the market use only welding to connect.

    Life

The life of HVLS fans is much greater than traditional fans. They can work for more than 10 years if installed properly. While traditional fans have a maximum life of five years only.

    Airflow

HVLS fans have excellent airflow, they can provide air to every corner of the room. They provide a tridimensional natural breeze that keeps the air fresh and healthy. On the other hand, traditional fans have less volume airflow, which is not enough for the corners. Large leading-edge commercial and industrial ceiling fans can provide airflow of 13,500 cubic meters/minute that can cover a massive area of 1600 sq. meters. If you use a fan & cooler Combo system for your warehouses or factories, it will be very practical than ever.
